Michael Lee departed

Michael Lee Bristol March 2006
Michael Lee Bristol March 2006

Of the hundreds of musicians I have met, Michael was one of the most generous & talented. He was also , in my experience, prone to having adventures. Only a couple of nights out with him, but you knew he was enjoying every moment. These pictures are from March 2006, the last time I saw him. Taken in Bristol at a soundcheck for a Thin Lizzy concert. He was in fantastic form. Famed for playing with supergroups like Page and Plant, Cult, Little Angels etc; he was also very giving with his time for up and coming drummers and well just enthuastic about music and everything about the industry.

RIP

Karl Brazil for Rhythm (this time!)

Photoshoot and video with Karl Brazil who was up in Manchester playing with James Blunt. Here are a couple of stills from the ones chosen for Rhythm. As ever really good to see Karl and he was as enthusiastic as ever, even though he had, had a ‘biggie’ the night before in Birmingham…

Chad Smith (Drummer) with Red Hot Chili Peppers and plays with Former Deep Purple bassist Glenn Hughes, photographed for feature; in fact whole magazine. He took over the editorship for an issue Summer 2008. This was taken in the Bar area of a posh London Hotel. Which we demolished, then put back together again.

Shot on digital 35mm but I DO so love some random borders you used to get from Polaroids, so have cheated with some old scans from “andrearusky” I found 5 years ago!
